Technique
Knives are fragile and require skill and precision to give them a perfectly sharp edge without damaging the integrity of the steel.
Mr Sharp uses a combination of high quality ceramic abrasives, smooth high grit belts and honing. Each knife is individually evaluated for the size and angle of bevel required. The blade then goes through a four step process and is finally polished to a mirror finish with a high grit strop. Our refined system eliminates the chance of any micro fractures or cracks in the edge, increasing the durability of the knife.
At no stage through their treatment are the knives exposed to any heat. Common sharpening techniques such as high speed bench grinding heats the blade which causes loss of temper and results in an inconsistent and rough edge.
