Mr Sharp was established in 2010 by qualified chef Joel Sharpe. Joel began his career as a young chef working for Sydney icon Greg Doyle at Pier, Rosebay. He went on to work in some of Sydney's best restaurants including Quay and Bel Mondo.

It is with this industry experience that Joel began Mr Sharp. Joel returned to the kitchen as Sydney's leading mobile sharpener. 

In 2018 Mr Sharp introduced a specialised knife rental service for Sydney's bistros, cafes, schools and hospitals.

I have known Joel Sharpe since he first started working for me an an apprentice chef at Pier in Rose Bay. Years later Joel returned to Pier to advise me he was now operating a knife sharpening business known as ‘Mr Sharp’. I commissioned Joel to sharpen Pier’s kitchen knives for many years, and the team of chefs were all impressed by the length of time their knives retained an edge.
Still to this day in my retirement, I get in touch with Joel when my knives need resharpening. Joel has applied the same dedication and talent he had as a young chef to his business, and I thoroughly recommend him to anyone in need of knife sharpening.
